AfterMeet the McKinney Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
We’re a small crew, and that’s on purpose. No rotating cast of strangers at your door, no call center routing you to whoever’s available. The people you see below are the people who answer the phone, drive the truck, and stand in your driveway at nine at night when a spring lets go. Four of us, all local, all trained across every major brand, all working under one name that reads the same forward and backward: Otto. We’ve been in Collin County since 2004, and most of this crew grew up within twenty minutes of downtown McKinney.
Our People
Otto Reinhardt, Owner
Otto started this company in 2004 with one truck, a box of springs, and a handshake policy he still honors today: the price quoted on the phone is the price on the invoice. He answers his own phone more often than not, including after hours, because he figures if your car is stuck in the garage, you deserve to hear a voice that can actually fix the problem. He’s trained on LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor systems, and he still rides along on the complicated installs. When he’s not under a door, he’s at the McKinney Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, usually buying peaches.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Otto’s Garage Door for eleven years, which means he’s seen just about every failure Collin County’s clay soil and summer heat can cause. He’s our spring specialist: he counts spring cycles the way the rest of us count miles, and he’ll tell you exactly what’s left on yours before it snaps in the middle of a February cold front. Marcus is certified in commercial and residential door systems and can rebuild a Wayne Dalton torque tube faster than most people can find the socket wrench. He lives in Princeton and coaches his daughter’s softball team on weeknights.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana joined the crew eight years ago after a decade in custom carpentry, which explains why her Clopay and Amarr installations come out looking like the door grew there. She handles most of our new door and full-panel replacement work in McKinney, Fairview, and Allen, and she’s the person we send when a homeowner wants an odd-size opening or a wood-look door on a brick ranch house built in 1987. Dana is fluent in every opener brand we service, but she’ll tell you straight: if the opener is straining, the problem is almost never the opener. It’s the spring or the track. She keeps a vegetable garden that produces more okra than any household of three can reasonably eat.
Ellie R., Service Coordinator
Ellie is the voice on the other end of (945) 777-4688 during the day, and she’s been with Otto’s Garage Door since 2018. She knows the inventory on every truck, the permit requirements for each town in the county, and which neighborhoods have HOAs with specific door color rules. If you call with a broken spring at 3 PM, Ellie will tell you exactly when someone can be there and what the trip charge is before you hang up. She’s originally from Wylie and keeps a running list of the best breakfast tacos in McKinney, which she will happily share if the conversation goes that way.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person who answers the phone or stands in your driveway carries the same rules: respect the door, respect the customer, and never pad a quote at the doorstep. That means background-checked and uniformed, yes, but more importantly it means the name on the van is the name on the invoice and the name on the license. We don’t have tiers of service or “preferred technician” upcharges. We have one standard. Every job gets the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing, every quote is agreed before work starts, and every repair is done by someone who knows they’ll see you again at the same gas station, the same school pickup line, the same Saturday farmers market. That’s the whole business model. Four people, one phone number, and an owner who still picks up.
